1998
Child’s Way became the First Pediatric Extended Care Center in the State of Pennsylvania in 1998. We are dually licensed through the Department of Health and the Department of Public Welfare.
2008
The Congressional Coalition on Adoption’s Angels was awarded to The Children’s Home in 2008.
2012
We were awarded the Shady Lane Champions for Children Award in 2012.
2014
Child’s Way was recognized as a winner in the Pittsburgh Business Times’ 2014 Health Care Heroes Award in the Health Care Innovation – Organization category.
2016
In 2016, The Children’s Home was presented with the Building Project of The Year Award by VEBH Architects for design that creates an outstanding environment for care for pediatric patients and integrates family in to the caring process.

In 2016, the Pittsburgh Business Times awarded Pamela Keen the Business Women First award for her work in creating Child’s Way.

Child’s Way has been award 4 out of 4 Keystone STARS for the past 5 years as part of Pennsylvania’s quality improvement initiative for early learning programs.

We are a National Certified Gold Safe Sleep Champion for the last 4 years. Cribs for Kids awarded The Children’s Home this award as an Achievement of Highest Certification Level to Reduce Infant Sleep-Related Deaths.
