Parent-approved, kid-friendly care in a home-like environment.
Welcome! At The Children’s Home & Lemieux Family Center, we’re all rooting for your success as a parent and caregiver. We hope you can feel that from the time you walk through the front door to when we’re discharging you to go home. Your entire family is important to us.
Setting Goals
Our number one priority from the moment you get to us is to make sure you feel welcome and comfortable, and you and your child are set on the course to independence.
Education
At the Pediatric Specialty Hospital, parents and caregivers are part of their child’s caregiving team, alongside our medical staff. An individual treatment plan is developed with family input for every child and is updated throughout the child’s stay.
Each hospital unit is staffed with a low nurse to patient ratio, allowing the nursing staff time to educate parents with hands-on training, while providing high-quality medical care to the child. Our goal is to help parents become confident caregivers to their child before transitioning to home. We strongly encourage parents to take an active role in their child’s care, knowing that the nurses are there to guide and support them 24/7. Participation may include education, hands-on training, bathing, giving medicine, feeding, and any other kind of care that is unique to their child.
